So i'll tell you what I just bought myself

i'm pretty stoked because honestly, i never use this kind of stuff so its a bit exciting to give it a try!

lol

bought me:

- a pack of Col-Erase non-photo blue pencils

- Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

- someo Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph Ultradraw Waterproof Ink

- BIC White-out Pen

What spurned me into buying all this fancy art-junk? Well, i've got 20 or so pages of EON Prod. Bristol to use, an awesome fan project, and a hefty dose of Skottie Young inspiration [lol. Been reading his OZ books. AWESOME]

For the longest time i've always just used regular #2 HB pencils [sometimes i'd step outta the box and use whats left of my fancy Derwent "Graphic" pencils] on just regular 8.5x11 printer paper

I've never inked a day in my life [I pencil really dark lol. and photoshop helps too ;)]

But yeah. Figure its time to try drawing like a "real" comic artist

we'll see how it goes :D

I'll do some test drawings with my new blue pencils and ink pen. Gimme some ideas for sketches if you got any! I may even do some non-TF requests. I'm feelin brave! haha

Never underestimate the power of the whiteout. Even professional inkers use the stuff, although they tend to lean towards white opaque ink as it's smother than straight white out and flows better off brushes and nibs.

^ That's what I was wondering, actually. If correcting a traditional piece with whiteout sortof affects the piece after, shadows on the white, or texture on the black. I've just been correcting digitally... :X

There's more control digitally if only for the almighty cntl-z. But I think that with white opaque and a brush you have to be more precise in what you add or touch up on a piece. I think one of the best examples of using white opaque is by :iconinkist: here: [link]

That is sweet!

I suppose with more practice traditionally I won't be wishing I could fall back on Ctrl-Z... ;)

Or I'll keep harassing you guys for stuff to colour... :evillaugh:
