Hey guys!

So i've just had this genius idea.

I've been wanting to do another tutorial here, actually an updated version of the one i have here in my gallery [link]

And i've decided to do it on Livestream!
Now when I originally did that first tutorial there was no such thing as livestream and i didnt have much capability to actually screen cap video [for very long lengths of time anyways]. So now that Livestream is well, livestream, I can do such a thing!

I cant believe doing livestream sessions before it hadnt really crossed my mind. I guess I kinda figured that anybody watching with a learning kind of interest might just kinda get the jist of what im doing but I think itd be great to do a video and narrate live what exactly i'm doing.

And thats where you guys come in!

I'd love to make this a sort of interactive experience. First of all, here in this journal id love to know what you guys wanna see me do or what you'd like to learn specifically about.

Ive always wanted to do a tutorial on coloring a page of comic book sequentials so I think thats where i'll start, but its up to you guys as far as what coloring style you'd like to learn more about? [the more cel shaded look or the kind of painty/not cel shaded look that i do]
would you really want a tutorial on a comic book page or maybe just a pin-up? what subject matter would you like me to handle? [obviously its a lot easier for me to get ahold of Transformers comic book pages than anything else so thatd be my first impulse to tackle] but its up to you guys. If you guys have some pictures in mind [provided they're high res enough for me to work with]? Kinda anything

I'm LEANING towards just coloring a page maybe from the old TF:Ongoing. I'm sure Alex wouldnt mind if I colored a page from his run or something [id rather not re-color a page from MTMTE, just fyi. sorry :D ] or maybe I can coax a page out of Guido or something too. [which would you like to see?]

I havent got it all planned out yet, obviously. I'd like your guys' input as much as I can get

As far as the actual sessions i'll try to schedule them for a specific time or something. I'm thinking, for the sake of time, i might break the sessions/pages up in stages. One session will be about setting up the page/flats. Another on rendering/FX. Maybe something like that. A full comic book page can take a few hours, depending on the level of detail, so thats all variable.

Ideally i'd love to do these sessions and have any of you aspiring colorists out there [or colorists looking to gain insight on some different techniques] to come join and ask me questions live. I could be narrating what I do and reading/answering questions while working on a page

And whats great is if you by happen to miss out the sessions are saved on my livestream page to be viewed later

But yeah! I'm just spitballin here. I'll have to work out a good time and everything. I'm just wrapping up an issue of MTMTE so i might have a little break here this week to squeeze something like this in before i jump on the next issue. So get your comments in fast!

Hopefully this'll be a good enough idea/something you guys actually wanna see :P

It would be absolutely fantastic if you did a coloring tutorial. I would defiantly do what I could to be there and ask questions and such.

Both of your styles are incredible but if I had to choose I would prefer to see your more cell shading type of coloring. I am also interested in the texture sort of look that you have done for pages in MTMTE. Seeing how you would color a comic page would be really cool.

Hope my opinion helps. :3

Eyes! TF eyes especially are so difficult. And something else that slipped my mind...

oooohhhh I'd love to watch!!!! I think the main problem for me is choosing the right effects and how to use them properly. Like how much/how little effect you should use in a piece and when does it become too over kill? And how do you go about getting out of your comfort zone when trying new techniques? Those are the basics ones I can think of now, but when you start your livestreams I'll probably have questions along the way lol. This is going to be fun watching you do a tutorial!! :la:

I'd love to know what your thought process is when you select for the colours of your unique colour palette. Rendering effects sound good too. :)

I would love to see how to flat faster and efficiently. Flatting is the most time consuming part imho. I would also like to learn about more technical stuff like what resoulution is best to color in for printing and what file outputs do you use, etc. Thank for doing this!

Oooohhh! One of the main things I'm always interested in is how people use the various Photoshop tools during the colouring process. Your style is definitely one I would love to gain insight into :)
