:iconjonathanglapion: is a tremendously talented inker and i'm so stoked that he's put some hi res stuff of his up for guys like me to practice with

was alot of fun

I tried not to look at the "official" version of this cover just cuz i didnt wanna try to copy it. Just wanted to tackle it the way I would tackle it without any outside influence and well yeah

I like the darker kinda feel this has, also some of the shadows I like better here (mainly the one one the drill).

Nice work, I love the rendering and the simplicity of it. A lot of time people tend to over state things with color but you allowed the inks to breath, any inker would love you for that. I'm really digging the marker feel to it and I love the background texture. Great Job!

Only few things I'll point out that would help give things more depth.

-Add some rim lighting.
-The buckle and the pouches on the utility belt, I think the buckle is fine but the pouches look to much like the buckle, they need to look like a different material then the buckle will pop.

Very cool. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me your thoughts!

I really appreciate it!

I kinda kick myself for not really thinking of utilizing rim lighting. Honestly i dont really do that sort of thing a lot and when done well it can really add a lot of depth

I was kinda disappointed at how i let the drill/hand get kind of lost. in the picture. That should have been a pretty good focal point to the image i was just kinda lost at what to do. maybe something like some rim lighting or what not would've helped to push it to the foregound a bit more

And the utility belt is just a huge oversight on my part. lol. i dunno what i was thinking. I should've made it a point to differentiate the materials but i ended up rendering it all the same :\

Again, I appreciate you taking the time to look!!
And especially for having this line art available to practice with!
