Thats right folks! Geoff Senior is back! [for a cover...but hey! the important thing is he's back!]
So anyways, this was shown off at Botcon this last weekend [photos of it have cropped up here and there on the web] and I figured i'd give you guys a little clearer look
This cover was truly momentous for me. Geoff Senior is hands down my favorite artist to ever draw Transformers. EVAR. and he's been a huge inspiration/influence on my own drawing style as well
So its a pretty big deal to me being able to color this cover!
After getting it i pondered ever so briefly about tackling it just about how i would any other piece of TF art i do but just felt that going that route wouldnt feel right. I had to go old school. So I busted out my 80s Marvel/DC color palettes i've run across online and colored this bad boy up. [and that yellow background! totally helps sell the feel i wanted for this too. Its so 80s xD]
So anyways! Thats my story! This is our cover! And I hope you guys all check out Regeneration One when it hits [Free comic book day is when the "first" book comes out. Nab that up and get yourself up to speed for the proper release!]
Lines by GEOFF SENIOR [im still gettin the fuzzies just typing that] Colors by me
So this is another "career goal" met!
1. work on Transformers comics - check 2. color Geoff Senior - check 3. [by the way, MTMTE #4 marks my 100th Transformers book i've contributed to!]
I think next is to actually draw an issue! But we'll see how that goes Guess i need to keep practicing >:}
Like many fans of the 80's Marvel UK TF comics, Geoff Senior is the reason I started drawing and is still my favorite TF artist after all these years. Many of his pages from the original comic still look amazing and full of life and energy.
Congratulations, man! I got to drink with Geoff at AA while Nick went fanboy getting him to sign his original Target:2006 issues. I feel your joy... Geoff Senior is literally the reason I ever picked up a pencil myself... although I've lost a lot of his visual influence these last few years.
Awesome, Josh I love the limited '80 palette. Results aren't realistic, but that's not the goal. It can gives the artwork a stronger graphic/symbolic feel. Love it!
Awesome cover and wonderful work!

Omega Spreem would totally dig your color choices!
